Hello! I look forward to getting to know you and hope that my bio below will help you get to know me as well.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield, graduated from the University of Denver with a Master’s in Social Work, and completed post graduate studies at the C.G. Jung Institute in Denver. In addition to my academic accomplishments, I have also participated in a depression research study with Harvard University and Kaiser Permanente.
My experience has included work with adults, couples and families for thirty-eight years. I was a founding member of the KWEN Family Institute in Illinois, trained with Bruce Fisher of Rebuilding Divorce Seminars, and implemented and co-facilitated the first multifamily therapy groups at Mt. Airy Hospital and Kaiser Mental Health.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment to help you clarify your thoughts, feelings, and needs, in order to develop a course of action to create the changes desired.
My private practice is modeled on a holistic and collaborative approach. The modalities utilized in a session are based on each client’s presenting problems and personal goals. I work with a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness and solution-focused therapies. When working with couples and families I use a similar approach, with a variety of modalities.
I often work with couples committed to improving their relationships, as well as couples contemplating separation or divorce. I also have expertise in divorce and step-family adjustment.
My areas of expertise include anxiety and depression; self-esteem; relationship issues; women’s issues; grief and loss; and divorce. I also help people facing end of life issues with a loved one.
I am constantly inspired by my clients’ courage to change as well as their resilience.
My office located in Aurora, CO, which is East of Denver, CO.
I am an avid lover of all types of music. I enjoy hiking and camping and even had the opportunity to hike the INCA trail to Machu Picchu.
