In Eric Hilborn’s Own Words about His Clinical Therapy Practice

I approach all clients with an interest in finding their special qualities, strengths. I go in this direction to strengthen self-esteem and self-worth. I practice equality, empathy, flexibility, and security in therapy, and my goal is to provide therapy where self-esteem and acceptance can grow.

Therapy with me is a partnership effort. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy, examining and exploring negative thoughts and behaviors which keep us from reaching our goals and fulfilling our lives. I teach and provide techniques to overcome these hurdles. I also use mindfulness and DBT techniques in my practice.

My best quality is a sense of humor, which I often use with my clients. If we are able to laugh about something that causes pain, it increases our power. My goal to make therapy comfortable and natural is the greatest intention I bring to my practice.
